Nearform has announced the next phase of its global growth, solidifying its role at the forefront of AI-native engineering. Its new operating and leadership model is built to meet enterprise demand for software that keeps pace with users in an AI-accelerated world.
The move is part of Nearform’s leading role over the last 15 years on modernising software engineering for business impact.
Built for global scale
As enterprise demand grew, Nearform has built operational hubs in the United States, UK and Ireland. These hubs sit close to client demand supported by Nearform's global delivery teams across Europe and Brazil.
“For more than 15 years, we’ve partnered with ambitious enterprises to design and build complex software systems that bring new value to users. Our reputation has been earned through our senior-only teams, practitioner-led delivery and deep technical leadership - from our pioneering role open source contributions, to AI-native engineering,” says Nearform CEO, Ciaran Cosgrave.
Formalising AI as a leadership priority
To support this global ambition, Nearform has appointed a new senior leadership team to drive growth and embed AI across solutions and delivery. Key appointments include:
- Corey Eastman, formerly Global VP of Strategic Growth at Thoughtworks, appointed Chief Commercial Officer, responsible for deepening enterprise relationships and accelerating growth across priority sectors including financial services, media and telecommunications, and e-commerce
- Colin Houlihan, formerly of Unilever, McKinsey, and Deloitte, appointed Chief AI Strategy & Solutions Officer, leading the global development of Nearform’s AI-native engineering approach, including proprietary AI libraries and repeatable delivery frameworks.
- Peri Kadaster, formerly Nearform’s Chief Marketing Officer and previously Director of Marketing and Communications at McKinsey Digital Labs, appointed Chief Communications Officer, overseeing a global communications function that amplifies Nearform’s AI-native positioning.
These roles work alongside go-to-market and delivery teams across banking and financial services, healthcare and life sciences, telecommunications and retail.
A further step in this journey was the appointment of Cian Clarke as Head of AI, a role established to translate ambition into operating reality. Cian has over 17 years’ experience in software engineering, working across organisations like IBM, ServisBOT and Red Hat. His remit spans codifying Nearform’s AI philosophy, embedding responsible AI across engineering practices, and ensuring AI solutions for clients remain enterprise-grade and sustainable. Together, this leadership team treats AI as a core engineering discipline that delivers measurable results for clients, not a reactive or superficial response to market hype.
From software consultancy to AI-native engineering partner
Nearform’s evolution has never been about chasing trends. “It has been about meeting enterprises where their hardest business challenges are and we never shy away from working on the hardest engineering problems enterprises face”, adds Cosgrave.
“AI is the biggest shift in software delivery we've seen. It's changing how software gets designed, built and run, which is why we’ve put AI into our delivery method and the solutions we build for clients - we’ve not bolted it on the side.”
Some of Nearform’s clients include Lululemon, Sun Life Insurance, Travelex and the Government of Ireland, as well as many others in regulated, complex sectors.
“Our route to expanding globally has been deliberate, grounded in the practical demands of the market,” concludes Cosgrave. “Now equipped with a global structure, senior leadership, and an AI-native engineering approach, we’re building the AI services firm enterprises will depend on over the next 10 years - by being product and engineering-led, outcome-focused, people-first, and trusted.”
